About Al Za'atari Camp population count

REACH, in partnership with UNICEF, conducted the most recent population count from 13th – 23rd December 2015.
Six population counts have been conducted in Zaatari since the camp was opened in July 2012. These camp-wide assessments improve distribution efficiency and infrastructure planning in the short to medium term by providing a snapshot of the spatial distribution and demographic make-up of the population. This dashboard presents the data from the most recent population count. In particular, data was collected on location, demographics, shelter type, and area of origin, as well as date of arrival and intentions for all households in the camp. Additionally, to inform sector specific programming, respondents were asked about the presence of household members with restricted mobility, access to private toilets, and the enrolment of school-aged children in formal and informal education. A quick comparison between demographic groups and geographical locations in the camp can be made through filtering data upon the selection of indicators by the viewer. The dataset, maps, factsheets and report are also available for download on this platform.
